According to respected journalist James Pearce, Xherdan Shaqiri’s presence at Anfield is one of the main reasons why Liverpool have decided against improving their attack in this summer’s transfer window.

Indeed, Pearce has claimed that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp feels that Shaqiri can have a big impact on the team during the 2019-20 campaign.

However, the report has not gone down very well with the club’s supporters, with many claiming that the Swiss did not show too much last term.

The 27-year-old arrived at Anfield in a £13m deal last summer having left Stoke City.

The versatile attacker made 30 appearances in all competitions – contributing six goals and five assists during a decent campaign.

Shaqiri was overlooked on a number of occasions in the latter stages of the season, though, playing in just three of the team’s final 11 league fixtures.

Having signed for Manchester United back in 2012, Joel Pereira was part of the team that won the 2014/2015 U21 Development League title and subsequently extended his contract at Old Trafford.

However, since his time at academy level with United, the goalkeeper has spent the majority of his career out on loan at various sides.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed spells with Rochdale, Belenenses, Vitoria Setubal and Kortrijk, and it has now been confirmed that he will once again spend the season away from Manchester.

As revealed on the club’s official website, Pereira has joined Scottish side Hearts on a season-long loan in order to “obtain regular first-team football and continue his development between the posts”.

After hearing the update on Pereira’s future, United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter.

Many supporters of the Manchester side felt he should have been sold this summer instead, and insisted he has no chance of breaking past the likes of David de Gea and Dean Henderson to claim the number one jersey at United.

Indeed, some fans suggested the club should simply “put him out of his misery” and just release him.

وقال قاسم، في تصريحات للموقع الرسمي للزمالك، إن الجهاز الفني بقيادة باتشيكو طلب من قنصل مصر في السنغال خوض مراني الأحد والاثنين على الملعب المستضيف للقاء الفريق وتونجيث السنغالي في دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وأضاف قاسم أن سبب ذلك هو التعود على أرضية الملعب، مضيفًا أنه ينتظر رد مسئولي النادي السنغالي.

ويتواجد الزمالك وتونجيت في المجموعة الرابعة، رفقة كلا من الترجي التونسي ومولودية الجزائر.

جدير بالذكر أن الزمالك يحتل المركز الثالث في المجموعة الرابعة برصيد نقطة وحيدة، متساويًا مع مولودية الجزائر بنفس الرصيد، فيما يتصدر الترجي الترتيب بـ3 نقاط.

أكد ماوريسيو بوتشيتينو المدير الفني الأرجنتيني لفريق باريس سان جيرمان، أن لاعبه كيليان بمابي، وعده بالفوز على برشلونة قبل المباراة بـ يوم.

كيليان مبابي قاد باريس سان جيرمان للفوز على برشلونة برباعية مقابل هدف، كان له نصيب الأسد منها، وسجل ثلاثة أهداف في كامب نو.

وقال بوتشيتينو في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “موندو ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية: “لاعبون مثل مبابي دائمًا ما يكونون في دائرة الضوء، كما أن الفريق بالكامل بذل جهدًا كبيرًا”.

وأشار: “في التدريب الأول لنا على كامب نو قبل المباراة، سألني مبابي عن عدد المرات التي فزت فيها على برشلونة في كامب نو، وأجبته أنها كانت مرة واحدة مع إسبانيول”.

وأكمل: “أكد لي مبابي أنني سأفوز للمرة الثانية، وبالفعل حدث ذلك، إنه لاعب كبير”.

وواصل: “أحترم برشلونة وتاريخه، واللاعبون العظماء هناك، وما زالت 90 دقيقة أخرى يمكن أن يحدث فيها كل شيء”.

وعن نيمار، قال بوتشي: “سنرى كيف تتطور حالته في الأسابيع المقبلة، ونعلم أنه في غضون ثلاثة أسابيع سيكون معنا، ونأمل أن يكون متاحًا لمواجهة برشلونة في باريس”.

Manchester United players are quite likely over the moon right now after a huge Premier League victory over Chelsea in their campaign opener at the weekend.

The Red Devils clinched a big 4-0 win over Frank Lampard’s Blues and secured the three points in front of their fans at Old Trafford.

Eric Bailly wasn’t present though as he is still recovering from the serious injury he sustained in a pre-season clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

The 25-year-old defender has been riddled with all sorts of injuries ever since he arrived at the club from Villarreal in 2016.

Manchester United already confirmed that the player will be out for four to five months, meaning that we won’t be seeing him on the pitch anytime soon.

But Bailly is optimistic, and he took to

And it seems that the new campaign might not be very different, if these early signs are anything to go by.

Staying fit will be Bailly’s biggest concern if he wants to revive his Manchester United career.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إيطالية عن طبيعة إصابة ألفارو موراتا، مهاجم يوفنتوس، وسبب تعرضه لنوبات الإغماء وسوء حالته مؤخرًا.

وكان موراتا يعاني من أعراض أنفلونزا وألم في المعدة، وأشار أندريا بيرلو، مدرب يوفنتوس إلى أن المهاجم الإسباني ليس في أفضل حالاته، وشعر بالإغماء بعد مواجهة بورتو في دوري أبطال أوروبا (طالع تصريحاته).

وأفاد موقع “كالتشيو ميركاتو” الإيطالي، أن موراتا لديه فيروس مضخم للخلايا (CMV) ويرتبط هذا بفيروس الهربس الذي يسبب جدري الماء وهو فيروس شائع جدًا وعادة ما يكون غير ضار.

Recent reports coming out of Marca suggest that Real Madrid, and Zinedine Zidane in particular, still haven’t given up on the idea of signing Paul Pogba this summer.

Whether that is a good idea or not is debatable but the same source claims that Manchester United are asking for €200m, which is about £181.6m.

One way or the other, that sum of money is ridiculous even for Pogba’s standards and especially for Real Madrid’s wallet since they have already spent quite a bit this summer with the purchase of Eden Hazard and co.
