This Saturday evening we have a real treat on the menu in La Liga. Real Madrid will face Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano and that clash just might be decided in the middle of the park.

Real Madrid will be making a short trip across the capital and meeting their city rivals, Atletico Madrid, in one of the first big derbies of the ongoing campaign.

As it currently stands, it will be a clash between first and third-placed teams in Spain and the victory for either would be huge at this point in the season.

But looking at the personnel and the squad both giants have at their disposal, whoever wins the battle for supremacy in midfield just might go on to win the whole game.

With that in mind, Toni Kroos’ clash against Koke is looking likely to be a key battle come Saturday night.

The midfield generals

Real Madrid’s 29-year-old German maestro has really been blowing hot and cold so far this season.

Even though he was harshly criticised recently, Kroos managed a masterful performance against Osasuna which proved that when he’s on his best, not many can go toe to toe with him.

And Los Blancos will certainly need him to be at his best against Atletico Madrid’s own general in midfield – Koke.

The 27-year-old has so far tallied one assist in the ongoing campaign but has also registered 2.7 key passes and 0.5 shots per game in La Liga. Kroos is also not far behind. In fact, he edges Koke out in both with 3.3 key passes and 2.2 shots per game.

The Spaniard, however, makes more interceptions per game with his 1.5 outshining Kroos’ 0.8. As far as tackling goes, the situation is once again pretty close and there’s just a slight margin between the two midfielders.

Koke has averaged 1.3 tackles while Kroos is on two per game but the former is definitely harder to dribble past with that only happening once per game on average so far. The German, however, has been dribbled past 1.5 times per game.

Judging purely by the stats, it looks like Real Madrid just might have a small advantage going into the game but the venue should also not be disregarded.

Atletico Madrid’s home, the Wanda Metropolitano, is definitely not an easy fortress to conquer as Diego Simeone’s men are yet to be defeated there across all competitions in the 2019/20 season.

If, however, the Galacticos manage to dominate the middle of the park, they just might stand a chance of changing that.

وأضاف: “الإسماعيلي يمتلك لاعبين ممتازين وفريق جيد جدًا وسنحاول في وقت قصير أن نفعل شيئًا جيدًا، وإن شاء الله نتخطى هذه الفترة”.

وأردف: “التوفيق أهم شيء بجانب صبر الجماهير على اللاعبين، للخروج من الموقف الحالي للإسماعيلي، لو خرجنا من هذا الموقف في أسابيع قريبة سيكون الشكل مختلفاً”.

واختتم: “التعاقد مع لاعبين جدد ليس أولوية بالنسبة لنا ولكن الأولوية يكون الإسماعيلي في موقف جيد”.

ويحتل فريق الإسماعيلي المركز قبل الأخير بترتيب بطولة الدوري، برصيد 11 نقطة، حصدها من 16 مباراة.

وأضاف في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “anfieldwatch” الإنجليزية: “وظيفتي هي لعب كرة القدم والدخول إلى الملعب لتقديم أفضل ما لدي”.

وواصل: “أنا لا أفكر في هذه الأشياء كما قلت”.

ويمتلك نونو مينديز شرطًا جزائيًا في عقده الحالي بقيمة 70 مليون يورو.

وكان الجهاز الفني للفريق بقيادة باتريس كارتيرون، قد وضع برنامجا تدريبيا خاصا للاعب، لتجهيزه للمشاركة في المباريات خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وانتظم حازم إمام لاعب الفريق، في التدريبات الجماعية بعد حصوله على الضوء الأخضر؛ وذلك بعد تماثله للشفاء من الإصابة في عضلة السمانة التي كان يعاني منها وتسببت في غيابه عن الفريق في الآونة الأخيرة.

وقام كارتيرون، بتقسيم اللاعبين إلى أربع مجموعات، وأجرى تقسيمة بينهم لتطبيق بعض الأمور الفنية التي تدرب عليها اللاعبون خلال مران اليوم.

وقام المدرب بإيقاف التقسيمة أكثر من مرة لشرح بعض الأمور الفنية، وعلاج الأخطاء التي وقع فيها اللاعبون.

وحرص كارتيرون على التناوب بين المجموعات في التقسيمة، بحيث تخرج المجموعة التي تستقبل هدفا، وتشارك مجموعة أخرى بدلا منها.

وعقد أسامة نبيه المدرب العام للفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي الزمالك، جلسة مع رضا محمد ظهير أيمن فريق الشباب بالنادي، والذي تم تصعيده للمشاركة في تدريبات الفريق الأول.

وطالب نبيه من محمد رضا التركيز في التدريبات، والتمسك بالفرصة؛ كي يكون في حسابات الجهاز الفني خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وكان الجهاز الفني بقيادة كارتيرون قد قام بتصعيد اللاعب في ظل النقص العددي في الجبهة اليمنى؛ بسبب تواجد أحمد عيد في المنتخب الأولمبي، وسفر حمزة المثلوثي إلى تونس، بخلاف إصابة حازم إمام الذي عاد وشارك في التدريبات الجماعية اليوم الثلاثاء.

وخصص كارتيرون، فقرة تدريبات اسشفائية للاعبي الفريق في مجمع صالات الدكتور أشرف صبحي، عقب انتهاء المران الجماعي.

واصطحب البرتغالي فرناندو مدرب الأحمال اللاعبين عقب انتهاء التدريب لأداء الإطالات، والتدريبات الاستشفائية في مجمع الصالات بالنادي.

ويلتقي الزمالك مع مولودية الجزائر 3 أبريل المقبل بالجزائر، في الجولة الخامسة لمباريات دور المجموعات لبطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

The London club endured what can only be described as one of the most embarrassing losses in their history, as they were beaten 7-2 by Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

During times like this a team needs a leader to guide them through, and for Spurs that man is Mauricio Pochettino – he gave his view on what Spurs need to do next as he spoke to the club’s official YouTube channel.

The Argentine stated that staying calm is “the most important” thing after watching his team be destroyed by the German champions.

He said that there is no room for rash decisions and that Spurs need to make the right assessments and keep calm.

He’s absolutely right, if Spurs are to rekindle their form under Pochettino that is exactly what they need to do, but it’s easier said than done and whether or not his players can follow his instructions remains to be seen.

Queens Park Rangers have experienced mixed domestic fortunes in the last six years, having been promoted to the Premier League and falling back to the Championship in 2014.

But the fans have taken their minds off the current first team and expressed their admiration for a former player, namely Clint Hill.

Hill, who was with the west London side for six years, is set to appear as a guest speaker at the club’s Championship clash against Brentford, and the former QPR captain has clearly still got the admiration of some of the club’s fanbase, with some celebrating his legendary status at Loftus Road.

The 6ft centre-back represents something of a stalwart at the club after playing 185 times during his spell, scoring five goals and providing nine assists.

Given the length of his spell and his contribution, it’s absolutely no surprise that the prospect of his return has given the fans on Twitter plenty to shout about.

Indeed, Hill sent a tweet to speak of his excitement ahead of his return, and it’s fair to say the response was one of gushing admiration.

وتابع: “لأنني لاعب أحب التحديات ومواجهة أفضل اللاعبين في الفرق المنافسة، لكن غيابه لن يغير شيئًا لأن مازال بايرن ميونخ رائعًا”.

وبسؤاله عن إذا ما كان قد طلب من مبابي البقاء في باريس سان جيرمان، رد: “بالتأكيد طلبت منه ذلك”.

Tottenham Hotspur are in turmoil at the moment.

The London club have won just one of their last five games in all competitions, and their last two matches have been a 3-0 loss to Brighton and an embarrassing 7-2 defeat against Bayern Munich.

It doesn’t seem as if anyone is on the same page at Spurs, as Moussa Sissoko has publicly criticised Mauricio Pochettino and there have been rumours of a dressing room rift.

However, it seems as if a recent announcement has buoyed a couple of players who were reportedly at odds with one another, as Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen both liked Michel Vorm’s tweet after he re-signed with the club.

This isn’t to say that the return of the Dutchman is the solution to all of the club’s problems, but it does seem as if two key players have been given a little bit of a boost by it.

Hopefully, Vorm’s presence can help unite the dressing room in the coming weeks, but it remains to be seen whether or not the atmosphere or results improve.
