Liverpool could be set to commit a huge transfer mistake with the club apparently not eyeing a striker in the summer window.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are currently happy with their forward line and have no ambitions to swoop for a big-money forward having previously been linked with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Speaking exclusively to GiveMeSport, when asked if the Reds could be in the mix for Haaland this summer, Romano said: “I think Liverpool is complicated in this moment because they are happy with the team they have, so they’re not planning to do something like (sign) a central striker for this money.”

This could be a decision that comes back to bite the reigning Premier League champions.

The Reds have certainly not been at their prolific best throughout the 2020/21 league campaign. Jurgen Klopp’s troops have only scored 48 goals this season.

Whilst not the worst total, with only four sides in the entire top-flight having found the net with more regularity, it is a stark drop-off from the 66 that they had plundered at the same stage last season.

As a matter of fact, a huge reason behind the Reds’ dramatic poor form this season has been their inability to find the net. In their last 13 Premier League matches since the turn of the year, Liverpool have scored just 11 goals – failing to score in eight matches alone since mid-December.

That lack of goalscoring threat comes directly from their strikers.

Whilst the likes of Mo Salah and Diogo Jota have all found the net with ruthless efficiency, strikers Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi have only seven between them in all competitions.

For a side that harbours aspirations of challenging on all fronts under Jurgen Klopp, that is simply not good enough.

The arrival of a striker would go some way in rectifying those problems and it would be a huge mistake for Michael Edwards not to at least try to sign a clinical frontman in the summer despite Klopp being “happy” with his squad, according to Romano.

أرسل الكابتن محمود الخطيب رئيس النادي الأهلي، خطابًا اليوم السبت، إلى باتريس موتسيبي رئيس الاتحاد الإفريقي لكرة القدم “كاف”، يعتذر فيه عن عدم تلبية دعوته بحضور المباراة النهائية من كأس الأمم الإفريقية.

وكان باتريس موتسيبي قد أرسل دعوات حضور المباراة النهائية لبطولة كأس الأمم الإفريقية، المقرر إقامتها يوم 6 من فبراير المُقبل في ياوندي، إلى عدة أندية داخل القارة، منها الأهلي والزمالك.

Former Newcastle midfielder Keith Gillespie has exclusively told Football FanCast that Adam Armstrong would be an excellent signing for West Ham.

The Hammers are enjoying a brilliant campaign under the guidance of David Moyes, but are struggling upfront having failed to replace Sebastien Haller, whilst Michail Antonio has missed parts of the season with different muscle injuries.

Since Haller joined Ajax in January, Antonio has missed just one Premier League match – with Jarrod Bowen playing as a false-nine in their victory over Sheffield United in February.

But with the prospect of European football at the London Stadium next season, Moyes is likely to add to his strike department in the summer, with Blackburn’s Armstrong reportedly on former Manchester United manager’s wish list, with The Sun reporting he’d cost £25m.

Armstrong has struck 19 times in the Championship for Blackburn this season, but the striker failed to score in 11 previous Premier League appearances at Newcastle.

But Gillespie believes that Armstrong would be a success should be move to the London Stadium. He told Football FanCast:

“No doubt. I think in terms of West Ham, if Antonio is not fit, who is a ready-made striker to lead the line?

“They got rid of Haller, and are going to want to strengthen there. Antonio has had injury problems at times over the last few seasons where he doesn’t play every week.

“I think he’s a great asset to them, but Armstrong has that pace as well where he can run in behind and he can finish. You could see him coming into that West Ham side. And the way they play with somebody in behind Antonio, can Armstrong play up alongside the likes of Antonio?”

Armstrong wasn’t given a fair crack at Newcastle, but since leaving St James’ Park in 2018 has worked his way up through the EFL to prepare himself to make the step back to the Premier League.

Membro da Academia LANCE! e reconhecido como um dos melhores da história, o ex-árbitro José Roberto Wright diz que o grande problema da arbitragem é a falta de renovação, citando que se nos anos 80 Rio de janeiro e São Paulo tinham pelo menos 25 árbitros de qualidade, hoje têm dois ou três.

– O pior é que não se faz a renovação e o aprendizado está cada vez piuor – diz o ex-árbitro, que também é membro do Comitê Independente de Arbitragem da CBF e faz críticas à Fifa.

– A Fifa é a maior responsável pela queda do nível de arbitragem, pois deixou de lado o aprendizado prático em prol da teorização. Em recente curso, um instrutor da entidade falou em ponto futuro, o deslocamento do árbitro, antecipando-se a jogada. Ora, se nem o jogador sabe aonde vai colocar a bola, como é que o árbitro adivinhará? E a CBF não pode fugir ao que a Fifa estipula e que está errado. Deveria haver uma separação na maneira de como conduzir o setor arbitral. Nos jogos no Brasil, virou moda crucificar os árbitros, que estão errando bastante, sim, porém mesmo quando tem razão o clube resolve, em caso de derrota, fazê-lo de bode expiatório e justificar os seus insucessos. Para piorar, o STJD indicia árbitros por discordarem de suas interpretações em campo, o que é um absurdo e ilegal.

Sobre as reclamações de Vasco e Fluminense, Wright diz que os times foram mesmo prejudicados:

– O Fluminense tem razão. Não pelos três impedimentos em três gols. Eles foram claros. Mas Fagner errou o chute e acertou o Richarlison dentro da área. Já o tranco do Giovanni Augusto no Cícero foi válido. O árbitro deveria, no entanto, ter punido ocm um tiro livre indireto, e não com pênalti. No jogo do Vasco com o Santos, o pênalti foi claro e o time carioca ainda pode reclamar de um erro duplo do árbitro, que ignorou a falta de Lucas Lima em Alan, além do impedimento em sequência que não foi marcado e resultou no gol contra do Rodrigo.

أكد آليو سيسيه المدير الفني لـ منتخب السنغال على صعوبة مواجهة بوركينا فاسو في نصف نهائي كأس أمم إفريقيا 2021.

منتخب السنغال الذي تخطى غينيا الاستوائية سيواجه بوركينا فاسو بعدما أقصت تونس، وذلك على ملعب أحمد أوهايدجو في التاسعة مساءً بتوقيت القاهرة.

وقال آليو سيسيه في المؤتمر الصحفي للمباراة: “نحن نستعد جيدًا لهذه المباراة، ونعرف جيدًا منتخب بوركيانا فاسو ونجهز أنفسنا بشكل كامل لمواجهتهم”.

وأضاف: “لقد واجهنا بوركينا من قبل في دور المجموعات بتصفيات كأس العالم 2018، ولم نحقق الفوز عليهم في المباراتين، لكن الآن الأجيال مختلفة”.

وأكمل: “لا أعتقد أننا سنفشل، لا أفكر في الفشل، لكنني أتوقع مباراة صعبة للغاية، وسنفعل كل ما في وسعنا للوصول إلى النهائي”.

واختتم: “المباراة الماضية ضد غينيا الاستوائية كانت صعبة، ولم نحصل على الفترة الكافية للاستشفاء قبل مواجهة بوركينا فاسو غدًا”.

Southampton fans were far from happy with the performance of Jan Bednarek during their defeat on Monday in the Premier League.

Saints were soundly beaten 3-0 by West Bromwich Albion away from home in a display that will not have pleased manager Ralph Hasenhuttl. Goals from Matheus Pereira, Matt Phillips and Callum Robinson put the St. Mary’s outfit to the sword, and they now have plenty of work to do this week ahead of their F.A Cup semi-final clash with Leicester City.

The showing from Bednarek was one of the reasons why Southampton were so soundly defeated. Him and his partner in the centre of defence, Jannik Vestergaard, struggled to keep their opponents at bay, and the Poland international often looked flustered as he attempted to show defensive solidity.

The Southampton fans were far from happy with what they saw, and they took to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts.
